When did it happen ? Since when does not supporting the war on global
warming and the agenda of radical environmentalists make a person '
against ' the environment. That's become such a loaded word, it almost
immediately invokes the image of scruffy pseudo hippie types protesting
some corporation and it's heinous abuses, meanwhile they all subscribe
to their own corporate uniform. Hiking clothing, Chocos, Nalgenes etc.
These folks might talk everlastingly of peace & love, but just try to politely
disagree with their views and watch how quickly so many turn very, very
malicious.
The
environment. It's yours, it's mine, it's all of ours. It's an asinine
presumption to say someone is ' hurting the environment ' or they don't
care about the earth etc. simply because they are a green scene advocate. You would be hard pressed to find someone in
good conscience that doesn't care about this planet. We should all be
good stewards of this beautiful planet, and treat it with the utmost
respect. This is not a novel idea, this is common sense and good
manners. Don't litter, don't waste resources, plant trees, take care of
the world you've been blessed to be a part of. Beyond that, it's all
propaganda and subtle political antagonism.
Which leads me to my point. Green is a scene.
If
our carbon emissions in various forms were that bad, do you really
think that for the sake of our continued existence such emissions would
be legal in any amount ? No. Then why are they still ? Because when
people can't think of anything else to contribute, they contribute
false dilemmas. When you buy into this nonsense, you're really buying a
lot of antagonism with it. By drawing a line and putting those like you
on one side , the " pro environment " crowd, you have aligned yourself
with radicals who are using a good topic of discourse as a front to
push leftism , socialism and redistribution of wealth. You can drive a
hybrid, you can use new light bulbs and eat all the fresh food you
want, you're still contributing to this supposed downfall, even if it's
lessened to a degree. You're still polluting, you're still putting
garbage in landfills and you're still supporting corporations. Don't
delude yourself.
So here it is. Global warming , in this
heightened level of scrutiny for it, is a sham. Sure, climate change is
self evident. Climates are dynamic changing phenomena, and like all
weather, are cyclical. We've had the jungle become desert, and vice
versa all over parts of the world time and again, but over periods of
time the human mind cannot perceive. We can't directly experience the
changes thousands of years can do to this planet. 40 years ago,
scientists were alarmed at the prospect of mass global cooling. The
little ice age of the medieval period was preceded by a period of
warming. But none of this matters to the green scene. The energy
consumption of post-industrial society is their culprit. Never mind the
carbon emissions of volcanos dwarfing the entire history of human based
carbon emissions.
The very idea of global warming being man-made
says one thing to me :
It speaks volumes on the audacity and arrogance
of mankind.
That man , is so powerful that everything he does
has such cosmic repercussions is vain to point beyond mention. Mankind
are not the center of the universe. So we need to stop acting that way. I'm quite certain that poor, ragged
mother earth did just fine before our existence , she would do just fine
without our intervening on her behalf and yes, is doing just fine with our presence now.
So
when you buy into this scene , what is it really doing ? Hybrid cars
will not bring a global utopia. Ethanol will not end wars and make war
torn enemies embrace each other was brethren. You are a demographic. A
voting bloc , and more than likely a very easy liberal vote. Please use
common sense, don't so naive as to believe this whole agenda is nothing
more than political expediency. To force the average person to go along
with the agenda.
Please don't think I am some naysaying
republican , I am a very independent minded libertarian. So libertarian
in fact , that the very existence of a libertarian party bothers me in
principle. It's good to be skeptical, even when it's the hand that
feeds you or pats you on the back.
This movement is intended to
bring on mandates, taxes and large government interferences that will
do nothing but impede the progress they so mightily champion in theory.
Communism fell, but it did not die, in fact the very last mission of
communist leaders was to disseminate socialist/communist propaganda in
the western world. It lives today in a much more subtle form, residing
in the extreme liberal left of our political spectrum. The
environmental movement has become the most expedient front to
disseminate communist ideals.
We as a nation need to be smart,
regardless of political affiliations, we have the capacity and the
ingenuity to create positive changes, there are a myriad of reasons how
and why to reduce our dependence on oil, especially foreign...but those
are mostly for economic/political reasons. But to progress we need to
unchain the agents of change who are being held back by government
interference and red tape.
We need a truly free market, without
big government mandates, which tax consumers unfairly. A market where
competition and a demanding public incite a need for viable renewable
energy alternatives. The current system is broken. $4/gallon for gas
makes that readily apparent. We need offshore drilling, we are the only
major country who isn't doing so, we need to tap into our own national
supply, we need to create new refineries. This scares a lot of people,
because to do so years ago would've left a much bigger mark on the
natural ecosystems of such locations, but with the advent of horizontal
drilling and improved technology, the effect would be minimized. We
desperately need to devote money to research and development of
alternative fuels, we need to be open to the prospect of nuclear
energy, clean coal and other sources. We shouldn't be wasting tax
dollars on billions for corporate subsidies that drive up food prices.
We need solutions, not propaganda.
